On April 28th, 2012, Marla Vasquez, Senior Vice President and Regional President of Wells Fargo San Fernando Valley Community Bank, joined community leaders and Wells Fargo representatives to present Korean Churches for Community Development (KCCD), with a $50,000 check presentation during KCCD's recent Foreclosure Prevention Fair at Glendale Pacific Community Center in Glendale, California.
On hand to accept the check was Hyepin Im, Founder and CEO of KCCD. She was joined by California State Senator Carol Liu (D-La Canada Flintridge), and one of KCCD's successful foreclosure counseling clients, Mary Kim.
Korean Churches for Community Development (KCCD) is one of the nonprofit recipients of Wells Fargo's $1.2 million Welcome Home Program spread across 20 nationwide nonprofits to provide counseling assistance on a variety of housing-related issues to low-to-moderate income people from hard-hit communities.
Hyepin Im, KCCD President stated, "We are deeply appreciative of the support that Wells Fargo has provided to our organization. With this grant, we will be able to help many more members of the community who have been hard-hit by the current financial crisis."
Since 2001, KCCD has helped homeowners save an estimated $83 million in mortgage from foreclosure and has a track record of two times the national foreclosure modification success rate.
